ASME SB163 N04400 nickel Alloy SMLS Heat Exchanger Tube Average Wallthichness

ASME SB163 UNS N04400 Monel 400 nickel alloy seamless pipe is a high-performance nickel-copper alloy pipe manufactured in strict compliance with the international ASME SB163 standard.
It is made from the renowned Monel 400 (UNS N04400) alloy, renowned for its excellent corrosion resistance to seawater, salt spray, sulfuric acid, and hydrofluoric acid.
Through its seamless forming process, this pipe features seamless welds, a uniform structure, and strong pressure-bearing capacity. This ensures high reliability and safety in high-pressure, high-temperature, or highly corrosive environments. Therefore, it is widely used in piping systems, heat exchangers, and core equipment components in critical sectors such as offshore engineering, shipbuilding, chemical processing, and the energy industry.

ASTM B163 UNS N04400 Chemical Composition

ASTM B163 UNS N04400 is a nickel-copper alloy containing more than 63.0% nickel and 28.0-34.0% copper content, it can be hardened only by cold working. It has high strength and toughness over a wide temperature range and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. EN equivalent is WNR 2.4360.

Application

ASME SB163 UNS N04400 Monel 400 nickel alloy seamless pipe is primarily used in harsh environments requiring excellent corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength. Its seamless structure ensures the pipe's integrity under pressure.

Its excellent performance in saltwater and acidic conditions makes it a key material in the marine and offshore industries, used in components such as propeller shafts, pump shafts, seawater valves, and heat exchanger tubes on ships and platforms.

In the chemical processing industry, it is an essential material for handling sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, alkalis, and solvents, and is used in reactors, distillation columns, and process piping systems. Furthermore, its ability to maintain strength across a wide temperature range, from cryogenic to high temperatures, extends its reliability to wellhead components and crude oil pipelines in oil and gas production, feedwater heaters and evaporator tubes in power generation, and fuel and hydraulic lines in aerospace and military applications.
