ASTM A335 P11 Seamless Alloy Steel Pipes For Refineries Projects
ASTM A335 This specification covers nominal wall and minimum wall seamless ferritic alloy-steel pipe intended for high-temperature service.
ASTM A335 P11 is a chromium-molybdenum (Cr-Mo) alloy steel pipe widely designed for high-temperature and high-pressure applications, usually in power plants, refineries, and petrochemical industries, etc. Its balanced composition (Cr, Mo) makes it suitable for various industrial applications where moderate heat resistance and strength are required.
Chemical Composition max%
Grade | Carbon | Manganese | Phosphorus | Sulfur | Silicon | Chromium | Molybdenum |
P11 | 0.05-0.15 | 0.3-0.6 | 0.025 | 0.025 | 0.5-1.0 | 1.0-1.5 | 0.44-0.65 |
P11 has lower Cr content than P22, making it less oxidation-resistant but more cost-effective.
The Mo content improves creep strength and high-temperature stability.
Mechanical Property
Grade | Yield Strength (Mpa) | Tensile Strength (Mpa) | Elongation (%) | Tempering Temperature min |
P11 | 0.05-0.15 | 0.3-0.6 | 0.025 | 625°C (1200°F) |
P11 pipes have good tensile strength, yield strength, and hardness, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance. With good creep, suitable for service up to 540°C / 1000°F;and P11 has better ductility than higher-grade alloys, making it easier to produce.
