One end of the tube plate at each end of the floating head heat exchanger is fixedly connected to the shell by a flange, called the fixed end. The other end tube sheet is not connected to the shell, but can slide relative to the shell, this end is called floating head end. Since the floating head is located inside the shell, it is also called an internal floating head heat exchanger.

Hydraulic Test
Specific steps are: remove the tube box outer head cover floating head cover → replace the equipment gasket → installation of floating head cover tube box → open the shell side opening flange → from the side of the tube box water injection for the pipe hydrostatic test → qualified after the installation of the outer head cover → open the side of the tube box opening flange → from the side of the shell process of water injection for the Shell hydraulic test.
Test pressure are observed pressure gauge pressure drop, the flange sealing surface and the corresponding equipment opening flange leakage phenomenon, no leakage and no abnormal deformation is qualified.
