Butt Weld Fittings ASTM A403 WP316L-S Stainless Steel Type A Stub End MSS SP-43
Stub End is a type of pipe fitting used in piping systems. A stub end is a short length of pipe with one flared out end and one butt-weld end. It's used to connect pipes of different materials, sizes, or schedules by welding the stub end to the pipe and using a lap joint flange to connect the assembly to another pipe or equipment.
ASTM A403 WP316L is a grade of stainless steel often used in pipe fittings. ASTM A403 is the standard specification for wrought austenitic stainless steel piping fittings, and WP316L specifically refers to the low carbon version of 316 stainless steel.WP316L stainless steel is known for its corrosion resistance, especially in chloride environments, making it ideal for use in various industries such as chemical, petrochemical, food processing, and pharmaceutical sectors.
ASTM A403 WP316L Stainless Steel Stub Ends are used to allow for easy disassembly of flanges or connections without having to disassemble the entire piping system.Being made of stainless steel grade WP316L, these Stub Ends offer excellent corrosion resistance and durability, making them suitable for use in various demanding environments where resistance to corrosion is crucial.

Applications:
Flanged Joints: Stub ends are often used in flanged piping systems to allow for easy alignment and connection of flanges. They are used at the non-bearing side of the connection, allowing for quick assembly and disassembly without disturbing the flange bolt holes.
Pipe Support: Stub ends can be used as support points for pipes in certain applications. They provide a stable connection for the pipe while allowing for some flexibility and movement.
Pipe Expansion Joints: In systems where thermal expansion and contraction of pipes occur, stub ends can be used along with expansion joints to accommodate the movement while maintaining a leak-tight connection.
Pipe Transitions: Stub ends can be used to connect pipes of different materials or sizes. By using a stub end with a different flange face or material, it is easier to connect dissimilar pipes without welding.
Maintenance and Repair: Stub ends make it easy to disconnect and replace components in a piping system without having to cut and re-weld pipes. This facilitates maintenance and repair work, saving time and resources.
