ASME SA213 T12 SMLS Alloy Steel Tube Aluminum Fin HFW Finned Tube for Petrochemical Industry
HFW Solid Finned Tubes stands for High Frequency Welded Spiral Solid Finned Tubes.
Spiral finned tubes offer designers a thermally efficient and compact design solution for a range of heat exchangers using pure flue gases. Spiral finned tubes are available in both solid and serrated versions.
Spiral finned tubes are manufactured by spirally wrapping continuous ribs around the tube. High-frequency resistance welding is typically used at 400 kHz. The fins are wrapped around the tube and the weld is continuous. The fins are spirally wrapped around the tube and continuously welded to the base tube along the root of the spiral using a high frequency electrical process. The fin strip is subjected to tension and lateral restraint as it is formed around the tube, thus ensuring that the fin strip is in firm contact with the surface of the base tube. The gas metal arc welding process is utilized to continuously weld the ribs at the point where they begin to bend around the pipe diameter.
For a given size of pipe or tube, the required heat transfer area per unit length of pipe can be achieved by determining the appropriate fin height, fin thickness and/or number of fins per meter of length.
HFW Solid Finned Tube
This configuration of welded steel finned tubing can be used for all practical heat exchanger applications and is particularly suitable for high temperature and high pressure applications. The important features of this configuration are the efficient and effective connection of the fins to the tube under all temperature and pressure conditions and the ability to withstand high temperatures on the fin side.
The continuous helical fin is attached to the main pipe by high frequency electro resistance welding to achieve an efficient and thermally reliable bond.
