ASME SA182 Stainless Steel Tubesheet 316L/UNS 31603/1.4404 Tube Plate
Tubesheet of Heat Exchanger
The tubesheet forms a seal around the tubes to prevent fluid leakage and ensure efficient heat transfer. The holes in the tubesheet are precisely aligned to the corresponding tubes, allowing them to be inserted and expanded tightly for a secure and efficient heat transfer interface. The tubesheet is designed to withstand the pressure and temperature conditions of the heat exchanger, ensuring a e and reliable operation. The tubesheet needs to be strong and resistant to corrosion and erosion, as it is subjected to high-pressure differentials and the corrosive nature of fluids.

The Application of Tubesheet
Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers: Tubesheets are used to hold the tubes in place within the shell. The tubes extend through the tubesheet and are either welded or expanded into the holes. This arrangement allows for efficient heat transfer between the two fluid streams, one flowing inside the tubes (tube side) and the other outside the tubes (shell side).
Condensers: Tubesheets are utilized to separate the cooling medium (usually water or air) from the vapor or gas being condensed inside the tubes. The tubes carry the hot vapor or gas, which gets cooled down and condenses on the outer surface of the tubes. The condensed liquid is collected and extracted from the condenser.
Boilers: In boiler applications, tubesheets are used to separate the combustion gases (hot flue gas) from the water or steam inside the tubes. The tubes carry the water or steam, which gets heated as it comes into contact with the hot gases on the other side of the tubesheet.
