ASTM B111 UNS C71640 (CW353H) O61 Copper Nickel Alloy Steel Tube For Electronic Industry
ASTM B111 UNS C71640 (CW353H) O61 Copper Nickel Alloy Steel Tubes are wrought alloys with a mixture of copper and nickel, which have excellent corrosion resistance and superior strength and machinability. Copper Nickel Alloy Tubes are particularly well suited for marine applications. The corrosion resistance of copper-nickel pipes is remarkably high, and they are also very suitable for cryogenic applications. Major elements of copper alloy tubes include copper, nickel and iron, which possesses high strength and corrosion resistance especially to flowing seawater corrosion. As a result, copper nickel alloy tubes such as C70600, C71500 and C71640 are extensively applied to ship structural component, precision machinery and chemical engineering etc.
Key Features:
Corrosion Resistance: One of the most significant features of this alloy is its excellent resistance to corrosion, particularly in marine environments, including seawater and brackish water. It demonstrates resistance to both general and localized corrosion, making it highly durable in harsh conditions.
High Strength: C71640 offers good mechanical strength, allowing it to withstand high pressures and maintain structural integrity in demanding applications. This strength makes it suitable for use in critical components subjected to mechanical stress.
Thermal Conductivity: This alloy exhibits high thermal conductivity, making it an excellent choice for heat transfer applications, such as in heat exchangers, condensers, and other systems where efficient heat exchange is required.
Biofouling Resistance: The alloy's resistance to biofouling (the accumulation of organic materials on submerged surfaces) makes it particularly advantageous in marine environments, where the growth of marine organisms can impact performance.
Ease of Fabrication: ASTM B111 C71640 can be easily fabricated, including welding and forming, allowing for the creation of custom-shaped tubes and components for specific applications without sacrificing its properties.
Low Magnetic Permeability: It has low magnetic permeability, making it suitable for applications where magnetic interference needs to be minimized.
Ductility and Workability: The alloy exhibits good ductility, which allows for ease of forming and shaping into various tube configurations without compromising its properties.
Good Resistance to Erosion and Cavitation: In addition to corrosion resistance, this alloy also shows resistance to erosion and cavitation damage, making it suitable for applications where fluid flow conditions are aggressive.
