What is S31603?
S31603 in 316 based on the reduction of carbon content, is a super-low carbon steel, a variety of organic acids, inorganic acids, alkalis, salts have good corrosion resistance, with good resistance to intergranular corrosion of the sensitized state of performance. Welding performance is good, suitable for multi-layer welding, no heat treatment after welding, no tendency to cut corrosion after welding.
The S31603 has rugged and robust chip characteristics. The use of circuit breakers and curlers is recommended. Use large tools and plenty of cutting fluid whenever possible. Heavy positive feed at low speeds should be considered . It is tough and ductile and can be easily cold worked such as roll forming, profile forging, cold heading, deep drawing, bending, etc. Without any difficulty parts that are heavily cold formed should be annealed to remove stress.
Characteristic of ASTM A276 316L Round Bar
