G type Fin Tube
Finned tubes are considered one of the most important aspects of any gas-to-gas or gas-to-liquid type heat exchanger and are compact units with robust and damage-resistant construction.
The outer surface of the finned tube is covered with small fins. The role of these fins is to act as a transfer process and filter. Heat transfer is generally from the inside out, and then reverse. The heat transfer rate of a particular type of finned tube may depend on:
Temperature difference between fluid/gas
Heat transfer between fluid and tube wall
Bare surface
Finned tube manufacturers produce many types of finned tubes. The type required for a particular process depends on the process equipment unit.
G-finned tubes are called recessed finned tubes, where G indicates a groove. They are formed by twisting strips of fins made of copper or aluminum into machined grooves and backfilling to secure the lock. Fill the bottom tube material. G-finned tubes are strong compared to other tubes. Therefore, it is widely used where heat transfer at high temperatures is required.
What is ASTM A179 ?
ASTM A179 covers minimum-wall thickness, seamless cold-drawn low-carbon steel tubes for tubular, heat exchanger, condensers, and other heat transfer services. seamless ASTM A 179 steel tube is supplied and produced by cold drawning method. Chemical composition contains carbon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur.
