ASTM SA213 / ASTM A213 T22 T23 Alloy Steel Seamless Tube for Heat Exchanger Application
ASME SA213 T22 is a alloy steel grade in the ASME SA213M standard, which is 2.25Cr-1Mo chromium molybdenum high-temperature ferrite steel tube for boilers and superheaters. In 1985, China transplanted it to GB5310 and named it 12Cr2MoG. The oxidation resistance temperature of T22 is slightly higher than that of 12Cr1MoVG, but its strength performance is slightly lower. This steel has good processing and welding properties, as well as good durability and plasticity. Therefore, it has been widely used in harsh working environments, such as various heating pipelines and high-pressure vessels in thermal power, nuclear power, and some hydrogen equipment.
ASME SA213 T23 heat treatment system specified in ASME SA213 standard is: normalizing+tempering (normalizing temperature ≥ 1040 ℃, tempering temperature ≥ 675 ℃), yield strength ≥ 205MPa, tensile strength ≥ 415MPa, elongation ≥ 30%, and hardness ≤ 163HB.
The allowable stress of T23 steel is twice that of T22 steel, and its 580 ℃ rupture strength is 1.4 times that of 12Cr1MoV steel. The rupture strength of T23 steel is equal to that of 12Cr21MoWVTiB (G102) steel, and it has high impact toughness and good moisture permeability. It is suitable for manufacturing superheaters, reheaters, and water-cooled walls of large power plant boilers.
