Ferritic Stainless Steel Seamless Tube ASTM A268 TP410 Oil Gas Heat Exchanger
Overview
Through heat treatment can adjust its mechanical properties of stainless steel, in general, is a class of hardenable stainless steel. Typical grades are Cr13 type, such as 2Cr13, 3Cr13, 4Cr13, etc. After quenching, the hardness is high, and different tempering temperatures have different strength and toughness combinations, mainly used for steam turbine blades, tableware, and surgical instruments. According to the differences in chemical composition, martensitic stainless steel can be divided into two categories: martensitic chromium steel and martensitic chromium-nickel steel. According to the differences in organization and strengthening mechanism, it can also be divided into martensitic stainless steel, martensitic and semi-austenitic (or semi-martensitic) precipitation hardening stainless steel and martensitic ageing stainless steel, etc.
Characteristic of ASTM A268 TP410
Grade 410 stainless steel is a general-purpose martensitic stainless steel containing 11.5% chromium, which provides good corrosion resistance. However, the corrosion resistance of Grade 410 steel can be further improved through a number of processes including quenching, tempering and polishing. Quenching and tempering harden Grade 410 steels. They are typically used in applications involving mild corrosion, heat resistance and high strength.
The tubes shall have a hardness number that will not exceed the prescribed Brinell and Rockwell hardness values, TP410, TP430 and TP439 max Rockwell hardness 90HRB, Test report required certification conform to Specification A1016/A1016M.
Several mechanical tests shall be conducted, namely:
Tension test; |
Flaring test (for seamless tubes); |
Flange test (for welded tubes); |
Hardness test; |
Reverse flattening test; |
Intergranular corrosion test; and |
Hydrostatic or nondestructive electric test. |
