ASTM A860 WPHY60 Carbon Steel Fitting 90 DEG Elbow And Equal Tee

The WPHY 60 elbow is one of the most used types of the fittings which is used to change the flow of direction. The elbows can come in different angles but the most common ones are 45 degrees and 90 degrees. The MSS SP75 WPHY 60 Tee is another fitting that is commonly used. The tee connects three pipes together and it can be equal or unequal tee based on the pipes that connect to it.

What is ASTM A860?

This specification covers wrought high-strength low-alloy butt-welding steel fittings of seamless and electric fusion-welded construction for applications in high-pressure gas and oil transmission and distribution systems. Starting materials shall consist of plate, sheet, forgings, forging quality bar, and seamless or fusion-welded tubular products with filler metal added. Materials shall be heat treated by normalizing, quenching, and tempering or stress relieving.

Specimens shall conform to required values of chemical composition and mechanical properties, namely: yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, notch toughness, and hardness. This specification does not require hydrostatic testing.
