ASTM B861 Gr. 2 (UNS R50400 / 3.7034) Titanium and Titanium Alloy Seamless Pipe
ASTM B861 covers the requirements for 34 grades of titanium and titanium alloy seamless pipe intended for general corrosion resisting and elevated temperature service, Gr.1, Gr. 2, Gr.3, Gr.5 Gr. 7, etc. ASTM B861 Titanium Alloy Seamless Pipes is normally used in the solution – annealed condition, where this condition provides a coarse grain structure for the best creep – rupture strength. It also provides the best bend ductility at room temperature, where cooling should be by water quenching or rapid air cooling.
Grade 2 titanium is called the “workhorse” of the commercially pure titanium industry, thanks to its varied usability and wide availability. It shares many of the same qualities as Grade 1 titanium, but it is slightly stronger. Both are equally corrosion resistant. This grade possesses good weldability, strength, ductility and formability.
