Yuhong Special Steel has been engaged in austenitic stainless steel and nickel alloy steel (Hastelloy, Monel, Inconel, Inkoloy) seamless welded pipes and pipes for more than 25 years, and steel pipes are sold every year. Over 80,000 tons. Our customers have covered more than 45 countries including Italy, Britain, Germany, the United States, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Poland, Singapore, Australia, France, etc.
ASTM A312 Gr Tp347h is an austenitic stainless steel. It contains chromium and nickel, making it corrosion-resistant. To increase toughness, the A312 347h material has a higher carbon content. Adding more carbon results in toughness, but also less strength than low carbon versions of the same material. But to overcome this problem, columbium was added to the A312 Tp347h material. The alloy composition makes the material resistant to most oxidizing agents. SA 312 Tp 347h material has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion regardless of carbon content. This makes 347h stainless steel pipe suitable for applications operating at high temperatures and with a high risk of oxidation. SS 347H seamless pipe material is cold drawn and therefore cannot be hardened by heat treatment. But it can be hardened by cold work. The material can also be easily welded.

Why is 347h SS used for chemical processing?
Grade 347 is a special austenitic stainless steel that can be repeatedly and intermittently exposed to temperatures above 800 degrees Celsius. These are improvements over 304 stainless steel. They are similar to grade 321 in some mechanical properties, but differ in that they contain columbium in the composition. The material is resistant to most aggressive media at medium and high temperatures.
This is an important aspect required for chemical processing. The material has a minimum yield strength of 205MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 515MPa. This enables the material to withstand high temperature pressures above 850 degrees Celsius. Tubes and components also have good elongation and high hardness. 304 material can undergo intergranular corrosion at temperatures above 850 F. 347H has higher carbon content and heat resistance, so it can work in this temperature range.
The combination of pressure capacity, strength, hardness, heat resistance and corrosion resistance makes it suitable for chemical processing. These properties also make the material useful in other highly corrosive, high heat applications such as boiler tubes and casings, radiant superheaters, heat exchanger tubes, oil and gas refineries, and aircraft exhaust stacks.
